Mumbles Sea Hive Project - Your help is needed!

You may have seen the poster on the Prom about the Sea Hive project, or walked along the beach and wondered what all those concrete tiles on the sea wall were.

Swansea University is conducting a research project into what surfaces best attract wildlife - shellfish, seaweed, algae etc. - and you can help!

If you are walking along Mumbles beach, please stop and look at the tiles, there are three sets of them between Oyster Wharf and Norton. If you see anything growing on them, even just a tiny bit of green algae or baby barnacles like in the photo, Swansea University would like to know. Please take a photograph of the tile, or tiles and make sure the tile number is clearly visible. And then send you photos in to r.m.callaway@swansea.ac.uk with the date when you took them.
